Misao Fujita is Professor of Bioethics at the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA) and the Institute for the Advanced Study of Human Biology (ASHBi), Kyoto University. She serves on the ISSCR Ethics Committee, the Expert Panel on Bioethics of the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (Cabinet Office, Japan), and several other national committees on bioethics and life sciences. Her research focuses on ethical, legal, and social issues in advanced life sciences, including human iPS cell research, human embryo model research, in vitro gametogenesis, and unproven cell-based interventions, with particular attention to governance, regulation, and public engagement.
